Subject of privacy policy

The subject matter of privacy policy is personal data. According to § 3, sec. 1 BDSG (German law) this refers to individual information about personal or factual situations of a specified or specifiable natural person. This includes, for instance, information about name, mailing address, email-address or telephone number and, where appropriate, also usage data such as your IP-address.

Scope of data collection and storage

The use of our web sites requires no provision of personal data.

If you instruct us to provide a service or the sending of goods, we collect and store your personal data in principle only to the extent necessary to ensure the provision of the service or the execution of the contract and in the event of follow-up assistance, if necessary. This may require transmitting your personal data to companies that we deploy for rendering of the service or the execution of contract processing. This, for instance, refers to companies of our corporate family or transport companies.

Collection and storage of usage data

If you visit this or other web sites you transmit data to our web server via your internet browser.

The following data is being collected during an active connection of communication between your internet browser and our web server:

  • date and time of the request
  • name of the requested file
  • web site from which you linked our site
  • state of access (file was transmitted, file was not found, etc.)
  • web browser and operating system used
  • complete ID-address of the requesting computer
  • volume of data transferred

For technical safety purposes, particularly in order to prevent hacking attempts of our web server, we are storing this data. This data is exclusively used for this purpose. Comparison with other data stocks or transfer to third parties (even extracts) does not take place.

Assigned data use

We adhere to the principle of the assigned data use and we do collect, process and store your personal data only for the purposes communicated by you. Your personal data is not transmitted to third parties without your explicit consent, unless this is necessary for rendering of the service or execution of the contract. Also the transfer to authorised national institutions and authorities will only take place within the legal disclosure requirements or if we are obligated to disclose data by a court decision.

Internal data protection is taken very seriously as well. Our staff as well as those of external service providers deployed are bound to observe confidentiality and to comply with data protection legislation.


Cookies are small files that are stored on the hard drive of the user´s computer and that allow to hold information throughout a certain period of time and to identify the computer of the person visiting the website. In order to control the visits of our site we simply use session-cookies that are automatically deleted once you close your browser. Thus a permanent file saving on your computer is not taking place. You can also adjust the settings of your browser to be notified of the placement of cookies which makes the use of cookies transparent to you.

Contact form

For the use of our contact form we require your name, your address including telephone number and your email-address. Further information can be provided, but are not necessary. We only use your data in order to process your enquiry or, respectively, to send requested information such as product information sheets, material specifications and so on.

Analysis service

Our website uses Piwik. This concerns a so-called web analysis service. Piwik is using so-called Cookies (see paragraph above “cookies”), which enables us to analyze the use of our website. For this purpose the usage information (incl. your shortened IP-address) generated by the cookie is being transferred to our server and stored for user analysis purposes which is useful for the optimisation of our website. During this process your IP address is being anonymised immediately in order to ensure anonymity to our users. The information about the use of our website generated by the cookie is not disclosed to third parties. You can prevent the use of cookies by means of an appropriate setting of your browser-software. However, in this case you might not be able to use all the functions of this website to its full extent.

If you cannot agree to the storage and evaluation of your data related to your visit than you can object to the storage and use of this data at any time by mouse click. In this case a so-called “opt-out-cookie” is stored in your browser which means that Piwik does not generate any session data. Please pay attention to the following: If you delete your cookies the consequence is that the Opt-Out-Cookie is being deleted as well and possibly needs to be activated again.
