EU-Project Measured: Membrane Scale Up for Chemical Industries

Our R&D team from Veilsdorf contributes its expertise to the EU-funded “Measured” project together with 16 partners from nine countries. The aim of the four-year project, which runs until the end of 2026, is to develop new types of membranes. These will be used in the fields of pervaporation (= purification of liquid mixtures), membrane distillation, gas separation and carbon separation/utilisation. With their commitment, the project partners intend to create a basis for the future commercialisation of more eco-friendly products/technologies along the entire value chain.

In the process, the Rauschert team has the task of developing and producing special ceramic membranes. These are then modified by our partners with the aim of obtaining selective gas separation membranes. In this context, we provide support from the first preliminary tests with externally coated single-channel membranes, to technology development, through to the production of internally coated multi-channel membranes on an industrial scale. This makes it possible to use them in the test system and creates the basis for a pioneering technology in terms of sustainability.
